MAIN CHALLENGE
Learning design standards, fabrication methods, and the contract design industry for commercial grade furniture
Unsure of what career to pursue after undergrad, I was lucky to secure an internship, which turned into a full-time furniture design position for David Edward, which is a company that specializes in chairs and tables for healthcare, hospitality, and office settings. During my tenure there, many of my projects included customizing furniture currently in production by working to only change one or two parts, so as to give the biggest customized impression for the customer but being the least costly for the company. Some of these projects include the Mayo Jax chair and the Scroll Arm chair. The Fayette and Universal chairs were my own design.
