MAIN CHALLENGE
Designing the space to be broken down easily while accommodating the need for localized broadcast audio to limit distractions from other groups.
My solution was to create very sculptural furniture where the sound domes are hidden in the overhead fabric drums. This is an experience that leads a pair of visitors through an argument about a culturally relevant controversial topic. The nature of the experience warranted a design that appears both inviting and exciting, since the activity is atypical of a traditional museum exhibit. The exhibit was extensively prototyped with a similar appearance to the final to ensure visitor engagement.
